Magdelegna, sister of the demon king, has been restless
and her
powers have grown very rapidly since she was taken by a
necromancer.
Only with the aid of a Druid friend, was Magdelegna able
to keep from
turning into the monster of human legend. Necromancers
use black magic
to control demons, after learning their true name--this
turns the
demons
into hideous monsters. Because she fears her run-in with
the
necromancer has changed her, Magdelegna hides her
increased powers from
everyone. When Gideon, an ancient and powerful demon
healer, senses
Magdelegna's turmoil, he offers to help. To the surprise
of Magdelegna
and Gideon, they become imprinted on each other. To be
imprinted is
rare and special among demonkind--the couple that is
imprinted can draw
power from each other and read each others thoughts.
Needless to say,
Magdelegna needs time to adjust to the swift changes in
her life, and
Gideon is willing to give her that time. Unfortunately,
danger is
lurking in the form of the necromancers and an unknown
enemy among the
Nightwalkers. I have been waiting impatiently for GIDEON after
enjoying JACOB
so
much, and Ms. Frank doesn't disappoint. In fact, GIDEON
is my favorite
of the two books, probably because I love Gideon's
character. Gideon
is
ancient, powerful, and keeps his emotions bottled up while
always
trying
to be logical. Magdelegna, a powerful empath, senses the
hidden depths
to Gideon. Even though, she , at first, takes him at face
value and
avoids him at all costs. Ms. Frank creates a marvelous world, in which,
Nightwalkers roam
the Earth. Nightwalkers consist of demons, vampires,
Lycans, and
Shadowdwellers. All these creatures have their own
societies, politics
and squabbles amongst themselves, but the necromancers
pose a great
threat to them all. I love Ms. Frank's Nightwalker
books, in fact, it
ranks right up there with my Dream-Hunter books. Why not
add to your
keeper shelf and buy a copy of GIDEON.
