This second book in the Vampire Huntress series picks up
where the Minion left off. Damali Richards is a Neteru, the divine vampire slayer
with powers of the world of light. On her twenty-first
birthday, she will be vulnerable to the master vampire.
It's a night where evil will have the advantage. Three different players want Damali. She is the key to
keeping the balance of good and evil. All three sides
have involved Carlos Rivera, a vampire, into the mix too. The Vampire Council makes Carlos a Master Vampire. They
know Carlos will be able to get close to Damali and he has
strict orders to deliver her to the council or suffer the
consequences. The Rouge Master Vampire, Fallon Nuit teams up with the
deadly Amanthra demons so he can claim Damali for his
bride. He knows if a master vampire and a Neteru mate,
they will produce a daywalker, the most powerful type of
vampire. The Covenant needs Damali to take out the master vampire,
Fallon Nuit and the powers of light will do all they can
to protect her. The Guardians aren't pleased that Damali
wants to team up with Carlos, since Damali's hormones are
out of whack and she can't seem to keep her hands off
him. Also, Carlos is struggling between good and evil.
He will have to deny his new vampire desires if he is to
protect Damali. In doing so, he may save his soul. The awakening is a masterful tale with vampires, demons,
the Knights of Templar and guardian angels. Ms. Banks has
created an intriguingly eerie world where the age-old
