"Good Old-Fashioned Ghost Story!"
Emma Beck is an artist. She paints and does cover art for
books. When she travels to Benina, South Carolina in
search of her birth mother, she comes across a house that
is very similar to the one she has painted in some of her
portraits. She buys the farmhouse and hires a
contractor, Mike Ruhl to make it livable again. When Mike and Emma finally meet, they have this
instantaneous attraction as though they knew each other
intimately. They both begin to have flashes of a past—
someone else's past, yet it's vaguely familiar. They're
convinced the house is haunted by a cat that appears and
disappears at will and by other spirits that will not
rest. Something horrible happened there and if Mike and
Emma can't figure out what it was, the past is destined to
repeat itself. Ms. Lisle has written a good old-fashioned ghost story
with enough romance and eerie tension that keeps you
turning the pages for the final showdown. Great Read! Courtesy: Karen
