"A Sci-Fi Romance Series like no other!"
Deidre Knight has a very solid series made stronger by her
second book Parallel Heat. The book was simply outstanding,
complex and amazing all at once. Parallel Heat continues
where Parallel Attraction left off with Kelsey and Jared
now married as King and Queen, while Thea Haven, once
promised to Jared, feels left behind. Parallel Heat is primarily the story of Thea Haven and her
journey to find her soul's destiny. A destiny she believes
now shattered by Jared's marriage to the human, Kelsey. And
as was learned in the previous book; life can have many
parallel lines and lessons. What Thea is about to find out
is sometimes those parallel lives can lead you to what your
heart truly needs. Marco McKinley is a Rafarian protector who has been hiding
out on earth long before Jared and his soldiers arrived.
Trained since he was a boy Marco has been raised to be the
King and Queen's personal protector. What he doesn't
realize is this duty is about to fall upon him sooner
rather than later as Thea discovers/intuits him in a human
bar. So strong is the realization of his presence, Thea
becomes overwhelmed and almost changes into her true form
of pure energy. Diedre Knight continues this wonderful Parallel Series by
revealing to us the story of Thea Haven and her search to
become whole again. But what I really appreciated about
this book is that we continue on with the many rich and
wonderful characters from Parallel Attraction as she delves
into those plots like a well composed symphony, where each
character contributes to the main plot by virtue of telling
their own story, but doesn't take away from primary theme
of Thea and Marco. Parallel Heat plain and simply.... ROCKS! I haven't felt
this engrossed in a series in a long time. In my opinion I
do not think this book could be read as a stand alone. I
would recommend reading Parallel Attraction first as it
will help to add to the intensity and richness of this
book, let alone the series. Ms. Knight is a true master of
weaving a complex and rich story filled with intense
romance and adventure. Personally, her books cannot get
published fast enough for me!
