"A Mind-Twisting Fantastic Romance!"
After discovering that Deidre Knight had won a P.E.A.R.L.
Award for her time travel book Parallel Attraction, I
decided to check it out. All I have to say is what a
screamin' fantastic book that takes romance and adventure
through the many dimensions of time. Parallel Attraction is
a fantastic opener to an incredible series. Jared Bennett is a King in exile on the planet earth
fighting for the freedom of his people. His reign began at
an early age on his planet after his parents died. Since
then the Council has been after him to produce an heir
since he is the last male of his line. Unfortunately the
only other female that is left of his kind is his cousin
Thea. Not that he doesn't love her; he's just not in love
with her; besides he doesn't have time for such things as
marriage and securing an heir when his people are at war
for their lives and freedom. Kelsey Wells is a geologist/human who just happens to be
researching an area in Wyoming that is near one of his
secret bases. In the process of evading his pursuers and
being severely injured, Jared inadvertently stumbles upon
Kelsey and uses her as a vehicle/ last resort to store some
information. Kelsey who is flummoxed by the whole
experience and doesn't realize what Jared has done, finds
she cannot shake her attraction to this man she briefly
encountered. Jared must retrieve the data as it is critical to their war
effort and possible success for the future. Retrieval of
the data is not the problem and any qualified officer could
do it; but Jared finds he is more bonded to the woman than
expected and will settle for no one but himself to complete
the task. Ms. Knight's novel is fascinating with all the twists and
turns she uses where the concept of time is concerned. The
secondary characters are complex and interesting in their
unique identities without taking away from the
hero/heroine. I have to say nothing rocks my world more
than to start a great book like Parallel Attraction and
find out there is more to come and already published! You
just can't go wrong by reading Parallel Attraction. This is
one reviewer who is VERY happy to have ordered the next
book in the series Parallel Heat, ahead of time!
