"a rich and erotic shapeshifter story"
Serena Plum, a press secretary for Kelvin Waters, goes
running off to hide after a political scandal breaks. She
knows that nothing has ever occurred even though there is
a great attraction between her and Kelvin. She is
completely in love with Kelvin but they have never acted
on it. She has devoted ten years of her life to him, but
when the scandal breaks Kelvin leaves her standing in the
wind, alone. All she can think to do is run and lick her
wounds. She runs right into the arms and house of Jack, a
mysterious cattle rancher. Jack Wolfe, a wolfen, has the best of intentions when
trying to help Serena, even though she makes him stand up
and take notice. He has lived a long life and she makes
him think of starting a new relationship, but first he has
to get the media off of her back. He takes the government
car that she has and drops it off at a police station and
lays a false trail for the hounds to follow. Jack must
find a way to reassure Serena that he is harmless while
controlling his lusts, if he can. Let's not forget Kelvin who's searching for Serena, and
trying to protect her even though she doesn't realize that
he is there. Will Jack and Kelvin come to an understanding
or tear each other apart over her? Can they protect her
from all comers? A Political Animal was a wonderful erotic story, with the
sex practically burning up the pages. The tug a war
between the two men and the feelings they caused in Serena
were rich and erotic. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and
will be looking for other books by Mikala Ash. The plot
line was rich, characters well developed and fleshed out.
You won't regret buying this book if you like erotic shape
shifters.
