"Nonstop action, fatal accidents and a forced marriage, what more could you ask for?"
When we last left the Jasper family, Jana, Jared and the
Coalition Space Force's highest ranking officer, Cavin Far
Star, had not only managed to defuse the REEF sent to kill
Cavin, they also averted an all out invasion of Earth by
the Coalition, thanks mostly to Jared, weekend warrior and
real estate developer. Always considering himself just
a "regular guy," Jared really doesn't want to be in the
limelight so he leaves that part of the deal to his
California Senator sister, Jana, and her man, Cavin. When
their grandfather died, the whole family converged on the
ranch. While out four-wheeling with his other sister,
Evie, the two come across the site of the REEF's ship.
Jared is just dying to get inside the vehicle since it's
supposed to be so much better than the transporter Cavin
arrived on Earth in. Of course, Jared is a bit concerned
when a screen comes on and he sees a woman barely dressed.
Not surprisingly, the two of them get into a bit of a
shouting match and instead of using his name, Jared
identifies himself by his call name, the Prince. Next
thing you know, Jana and Cavin are called away. Turns out
there was a message at the space station from the
Coalition. The Coalition has decided they want a peace
treaty with Earth and the way they decide to cement the
deal is by marrying off their castrating queen to the
prince, Jared. Eventually, Jared caves and agrees to the
engagement. Once he's all spiffed up and ready, the
Coalition ministers and the queen appear on the screen.
Imagine Jared's surprise when he finds himself not
engaged, but married to Queen Keira. When Keira was a child, she found herself a queen and
goddess when the rest of her family was murdered and she's
been alone ever since. Thrust into a position she wasn't
ready for and didn't want. So when the Coalition believes
Earth has a major space force, the ministers decide they
need a peace treaty to keep their enemies away. And what
better way to cement a treaty than by marrying off their
queen to an earthling? Reluctantly, Keira agrees. She
knows she's nothing more than a figurehead and a breeding
machine to keep her line alive to her ministers. When her
ministers tell her it was just a tragic accident when her
Intelligence Minister gets killed, she believes it. Keira
really doesn't want to get involved in politics at all.
She'd much rather drink her snowberry wine and throw her
knives and practice with her laser sword. So what happens when these two actually get together? Will
Keira find out Jared really isn't a prince? Who is behind
all these tragic accidents and will Jared end up having a
tragic accident himself? Will Keira ever take her place as
queen and goddess instead of merely being a figurehead? Do
Keira and Jared have a chance at a happy marriage? MY FAVORITE EARTHLING is one story that definitely
delivers, from nonstop action to true love. Susan Grant
takes the story begun in YOUR PLANET OR MINE? and
continues it with the another Jasper sibling, Jared.
Between aliens, culture shock and assassination attempts,
the action starts on the very first page and doesn't let
up. This one definitely kept me turning the pages to find
out what happened next. We have a self-proclaimed "regular
guy" turned into a prince overnight and a very lonely
queen used to keeping everyone away with anger, and the
fireworks explode. Throw traitors into the mix and not
knowing who to trust, and this just couldn't get much
better. I have to admit, my favorite scene was the one
with the smartcuffs. And I can't wait to see what happens
with Evie, the last single Jasper sibling. One thing I
love about Susan Grant's books, under all the action and
danger, there's always a love story and she always leaves
me with the heartfelt sigh at the end. Pick up a copy of
this whole series. You won't be sorry you did.

His fiancee was out of this world. Literally.
Even a Goddess can have a bad day...
Keira, warrior-queen of the galaxy, is as famous for her beauty as she is for avoiding marriage. But when an upstart little planet called Earth threatens her world with its fleet of spaceships, the fate of her people lies in her hands. She must bind herself to a barbarian from the rogue world...or face the destruction of her own! She's what he never knew he always wanted...
Confirmed bachelor Jared Jasper knew the trick Earth pulled on the alien invaders wasn't a permanent solution. What they needed was a peace treaty. It just never occurred to him that he would wind up on the bargaining table. Playing the pushover groom to a mouthy alien babe who knows how to use a plasma sword is not exactly his idea of fun. But with six-billion people depending on him, he doesn't have much choice--sleep with the enemy...or bring on interstellar war. Strange bedmates? You bet. But this alliance may turn into a romance the likes of which this galaxy's never seen!
