"Not your mother's Atlantis!"
Now that they finally have a castle to call home, Nymph
King Valerian knows he cannot relax. After stealing the
castle from the Dragons, Valerian knows they will try and
take it back. Knowing he will have a battle on his hands,
Valerian decided to leave all the Nymph females behind in
safety. Since there are no females for his warriors, they
are all becoming weak from lack of sex. Sex keeps the
Nymphs strong and allows them to heal faster. Of course,
as king, Valerian has taken advantage of the fact three
human females were in the castle and has indulged himself.
When the other warriors all start complaining of the lack
of females, Valerian knows he must do something. So they
decide to take a trip to the surface to gather some
females. Since Valerian has the three human females
already, he tells his warriors he will not choose any. Shaye Holling is really fed up with this. Once again,
she's stuck in the wedding party for her mother's
marriage. Shaye has lost count of how many marriages her
mother has had since the woman has a tendency to go
through husbands rather quickly. Naturally, Shaye has
decided she will never fall in love. She's seen what love
has done to her parents and wants no part of it. And leave
it to her mother to decide to have this wedding on the
beach in these ridiculous costumes of coconut bras and
grass skirts. All Shaye wants to do is get this over with
and go home. Stepping outside once the ceremony is over,
Shaye watches as men rise out of the water. And not just
any men, but these all look like Greek gods. With all the
other women falling over themselves to go with these men,
Shaye and one other are the only ones fighting. Not that
it does them any good. The one in charge grabs Shaye and
goes back into the water with her. They end up in a vortex
of some sort and come out in the basement of a castle. Valerian has instantly recognized Shaye as his mate. This
means no other woman will ever appeal to him again. He
must have her. Unfortunately, he has already told his
warriors he will not choose from among these women. Will Valerian and Shaye be together? Will Shaye allow
herself to fall in love with a Nymph of all creatures—a
totally sexual being? And let's not forget the Dragons.
They will want their castle back. THE NYMPH KING is a wonderful story of the fabled kingdom
of Atlantis. Once again, Gena Showalter shows her talent
in this hilarious story filled with everything from
Dragons and Nymphs to Vampires and Demons. But this is
also a romance and we get to watch as Shaye must learn to
deal with her feelings for Valerian and how he must get
past the wall she's built around her heart. And of course,
there's also a fight over Shaye, battles, and even the
story of how one woman must learn to deal with the fact
she was raped. And while this rape and Shaye's denials of
her feelings are dealt with in a sensitive manner, there's
plenty of humor. This is a wonderful story and proves
exactly why Gena Showalter is one of my auto-buy authors.
