Karen Marie Moning takes sexy to a whole new level with
Adam Black! The Immortal Highlander is a sexy rush of adventure. If
there was a male
Scottish equivalent to the Greek goddess Aphrodite it
would have to be Adam
Black. His sexual prowess was well known by both in the
human and fae realm. Once a favorite to the fae Queen Aoibeal, Adam pushed her
buttons one too many
times and made the mistake of speaking against her in
front of the council. To
over look this would undermined her position, thus Adam is
cursed to wander the
human world unseen and stripped of most of his powers. And
for a sensual man who
revels in his sexuality, to be deemed invisible was
cruelty enough. Enter Gabrielle O'Callaghan [Gabbi] on of the last of her
kind in the human
world she has the ability to see faery. Though cloaked to
the human eye, her
gift makes her too unique and as such a threat to the fae.
Thus she works very
hard to pretend not to see them in hopes to lead a normal
life. All other seers
have been destroyed by the Hunters of the Tuatha de
Danaan/faery. Gabbi's world is about to get turned upside-down as she
accidentally stumbles on
Adam Black laying in repose on a park bench. When she
first sees him she doesn't
realize he is fae until she sees the royal jewels he
wears, but by the time she
figures this out it is too late and he has seen her seeing
him. While Adam is
elated at the prospect of being seen, Gabbi is terrified
and knows all bets are
off, she can no longer pretend...she has been discovered.
There is only one thing
she can do when faced with very sexy Adam Black...turn and
run like hell. You just can't go wrong with a Karen Marie Moning book.
Sixth in her Highlander
series, The Immortal Highlander had me riveted as I
laughed out loud, bit my
nails and blushed to the roots of my hair. It was very
impressive that Ms.
Moning could create a strong enough female character to
match the lick-your-lips
sexy, Adam Black. Without a doubt I unequivocally recommend this book. You
could read it as a
stand alone, but I believe readers will enjoy it that much
more if they follow
the series as some of the characters from previous books
are revisited. To sum
this book up in two words...It Rocks!
