"Wonderful Children's fantasy!"
Mashu is a young boy that lives in the small town of
Crockenhall. One of his favorite places to go play is the
Birchtree Woods, which is where he's headed now. Once he
gets there, he hears a weird noise and immediately goes to
investigate. Imagine his surprise when he finds the source
of the noise to be nothing other than an extremely small
child! This child informs Mashu he is a little Tulie and
some of his friends come out to play with them. The little
Tulies accept Mashu as a friend and they decide to play a
game. When they can't determine the winner, the little
Tulies suggest asking the Big Tulie. So off they go to visit the Big Tulie. When they get
there,
it turns out the Big Tulie has a mission for Mashu. The
Big
Tulie is fading from the world and he needs Mashu to make
sure this doesn't happen. Of course, he will send Mashu
clues on how to do this, along with a couple of friends to
help him. Will Mashu be able to complete his mission? What of the
evil being that will try to stop him? MASHU is a wonderful children's fantasy tale! Author
Michael Davies has definitely shown his versatility with
this story. I wish there were stories like this around
when
I was a child. We have the chance to travel along with
Mashu as he gets various clues and faces different
dangers.
We also get to make new friends and become reacquainted
with some old ones along the way. This tale is told in an
engaging fashion, sure to keep the interest of all those
young readers. If you have a young reader in your
household, this is one story you want them to read! Posted January 3, 2005
