"Mix a prophesy, two different cultures, throw in a grat and you have a great read!"
As Kiran bends down to get a drink, he senses an object
whizzing by his head. The creature screams at him to leave
and begins throwing more rocks at him. Eventually, Kiran
manages to catch the Earthling and when he rips her shirt,
realizes he has captured a woman. His people, the Zoeans,
have taken in many survivors of her kind when the disease
went through their camp. The woman takes off again. Just as
well, Kiran is on a mission for the life of his planet and
doesn't need the distraction. The Keepers of The Memory
have sent him on this journey. Kiran was born with the mark
of the Guardian of the Storm and his mission is to find
Storm, the personification of the Goddess Zoe, and make
love to her on the altar at her Secret Temple. This mission
is very important, and, if Kiran times it right, water is
supposed to return to the Niahan people. Tempest can't believe how arrogant this Niahan is. When she
finally manages to make her way to her cave, he's there
with a fire going and food to eat. Since she's starving,
she decides to sit and eat. When he offers to share his
blanket and his warmth, Tempest crawls in next to him and
he pulls her close to his body. When Tempest wakes up the
next morning, Kiran is already gone. So Tempest decides
she's going to accompany him on his journey. Even his
company is better than being alone, which is what she's
been for the past two years. Tempest finally manages to catch up with Kiran the next
evening. After a chance meeting with a grat, one of the
local felines, Kiran reluctantly agrees to allow Tempest to
accompany him. When Tempest tells him the meaning of her
name, he begins to suspect she may be the Storm he is to
protect, but he refuses to accept it. There is a very
strong chemistry between the two of them, but they both
resist. Is Tempest the Storm of prophesy? Will the two of them be
able to resist their growing attraction to the other? Will
Kiran be able to carry out his mission and bring the planet
back to life? GUARDIAN OF THE STORM is fast-paced, enthralling read. The
characters are all engaging, from the barbarian hero to the
smart mouthed heroine. I have to admit, I really loved the
grat and how loyal it became to Tempest. This story will
keep you turning pages up until the very end and then
you'll wish it would continue. I really loved the mixing of
cultures, which caused the misunderstandings between the
two of them. This is one story I highly recommend! Posted July 14, 2004

He bore the mark of the Guardian--one whose coming had been
foretold in the ancient scrolls--he was destined to bring
the rains that would transform their arid world into the
garden it had once been. To fulfill his destiny, however, he
must find the Storm, for only in their joining, will the
prophecies unfold.
