"Fantastic paranormal anthology!"
In this four story anthology, we have one common thread:
the supernatural. Our first story, A PIRATE'S LIFE by Stephanie Bedwell-
Grime, is a contemporary. Our hero, Adrian, a vampire, has
finally managed to turn his life around, thanks to another
vampire. One night, he came across some punks beating up a
man and he saved the victim's life. It turned out the
victim is a police officer and ever since that time, the
two of them have worked out a relationship. Adrian helps
Frazier MacAdam in any of his cases dealing with the
supernatural. Right now, Frazier needs Adrian's help. It
seems there is a vampire pirate out there. Even though
Frazier warns Adrian against it, the vampire can't help
being attracted to Frazier's partner, the beautiful Kiana
Douglas, who just happens to be the police chief's
daughter. Will the three of them manage to find the pirate? What of
the attraction between Kiana and Adrian? Will they act on
it? In our second story, ADOPT-A-DEMON by Ashley Ladd, we stay
in the present. Halloween is always Meghan's favorite time
of year. Her cousin, a justice of the peace in Las Vegas,
always come back home to visit with Meghan at this time of
year. Meghan always goes all out and really decorates her
apartment. When she comes across an ADOPT-A-DEMON website,
Meghan virtually signs the contract and gets the surprise
of her life when her dream lover shows up! Will the two of them have a life outside of dreams? What of
all the demons being released? How can they be stopped
before they destroy the world? For our third story, THE SACRIFICE by S.A. Martin, we get
to travel to a world long ago. Briana lives with a witch.
After her father died, their servant stayed on with Briana.
When she tells Briana she must flee, Briana hesitates. When
it turns out Briana is to be the next Druid sacrifice,
Briana realizes she must leave and so she runs. When her
absence is noted by the Druids, they send their best
tracker, Weylyn, after her. Of course, the Druids don't
realize Weylyn and Briana were best friends as children and
are still attracted to each other. Will Weylyn be able to find Briana and return her to their
village before Samhaim, when the sacrifice is to be made?
Will he be able to watch her be killed by the Head Druid?
What of their friendship and the attraction between them? We once again come to the present time in our final story,
THE SEDUCTRESS by C.H. Scott. We now have Colette, half
witch, half mortal. As long as she has her necklace, she
has certain powers and won't age beyond the age of twenty-
five. On her way home from work, she hears a scuffle in an
alleyway and ends up rescuing the man being beaten by two
thugs. The man manages to get her necklace and has control
over her. Ten long years pass in this fashion. The man has
Colette seduce wealthy men to further his political career.
Well, Colette becomes determined to regain her necklace and
has a plan on just how to do so. It involves the man's son,
not much younger than she is. Will Colette be able to seduce the son? Will she ever
regain her necklace? What of the way she feels for the son? IN THE WITCHING HOUR is a wonderful anthology. We have a
little bit of everything in this anthology, from demons,
witches and vampires to Druids and the fae. There is
something to suit everyone's taste in this fascinating
anthology. Even though all four stories are very different,
they all have one thing in common: love. I highly recommend
