who will make it out of the jungle alive? Summary
Cherise Sartori, a jaded heiress to the biggest jewelry empire in the world, has done it all and lived to tell Vogue about it. When Cherise's uncle Laslo Sartori asks her to deliver a locked briefcase to his business partner on her way to a wild party in Rio de Janeiro, least of all she expects to be kidnapped by the handsome, cocky driver that meets her at the airport. Soon Cherise discovers that the goal of her kidnapping is more terrifying than ransom. The locked case is full of loose diamonds—a half of the payment for the bargain Laslo Sartori struck with Evelyn Tay. And the second half of the payment is Cherise herself. Evelyn's plans seem to have something to do with Cherise's past and family, her scattered memories of ancient crypts and ancient secrets -- and blood. Something to do with... vampires? Here, in the heart of South America? Sounds crazy? Cherise thinks so, but Evelyn's people believe it... or do they? Besides, both Leif Gerritsen, a rogue archaeologist—the cocky driver from the airport—and Ted Costner, Evelyn's aide and bodyguard, seem to be harboring their own plans. Cherise's plans is to use their plans to win. Her heart isn't in that, of course... or is it? But an unexpected turn of events only makes matters worse, so when the journey into the jungle begins, Cherise must do the only thing she has never done before.
