"Fantastic story of the world of fantastic beings!"
In this, the third book in the UNICORN VALLEY series, our
story deals with Brolly, the werewolf healer. While we got
to meet him in both the first and second stories in this
series, we get to know him much better in this one. Brolly
is perfectly content with this life. He loves being a
healer and is one of the best in the Valley. Even though
he prefers men over women, he is not looked down upon for
his preference. The only problem area currently in his
life is his love life. You see, Brolly has had a crush on
Le-An ever since he was a child. This being was a good
friend of his parents and often babysat. The amazing thing
about Le-An is no one knows exactly what or how old he/she
is. This being can take the form of either man or woman,
and Brolly would love to have Le-An both ways. Once again being wounded outside the valley, Le-An is
brought to Brolly. When one thing leads to another, the
two of them become intimate. Right after that wonderful
experience, Brolly leaves the Valley. It turns out the
pack wants him to fight the current leader and take over.
If Brolly should do so, he will have to give up being a
healer, not to mention Le-An. So instead of making a
decision, Brolly decides to see if he can find his
brother. Naturally, one of Brolly's sisters sends Le-An
out after Brolly. Will Le-An be able to find Brolly? What of the pack? Will
Brolly decide to go with their wishes, or will he remain a
healer and become mated to Le-An? I have to admit, the UNICORN VALLEY series is one of my
favorites. I love the creatures who live in this valley
outside the world of man. There's a bit of everything
there, from vampires and werewolves, to unicorns and
elves. And UNICORN VALLEY 3: HEALER'S HEART doesn't
disappoint. Of course, this time, Lena Austin throws us a
curve as we venture outside the valley and discover how
two of the inhabitants manage among mortal humans. We also
catch a hint of persecution and prejudice in this story as
well. I really enjoy this series and cannot recommend it
highly enough!
