"A touch of fate and faith bring love to another Reilly"
Reilly's GOLD continues the IRISH BLESSING series by
Elizabeth Keys. It is a stand-alone story with many of the
same blessing elements of REILLY'S LAW. Reilly's Blessing
was passed down and Devin Reilly remembers his
grandmother's story. The Blessing signals life altering
event, but it is their choice "the knowin is up to us, the
doin's another part". Fate it seems does not wait for an opportune time to
present us with choices. Devin Reilly has always felt a
need to participate in his family's shipping business, but
as the youngest, he is being sent to the University to
first get more education. With his father ill and business
in difficulty, Devin decides that HE will direct his fate
and heads to the US and California Gold rush with hopes of
great riches. Just off the boat in Boston, he finds
himself helping Maggie Brownley and loosing everything.
What should he do? He will not approach his father's and
brother's business associates for help. He needs to do
this on his own. One touch of Maggie's hand and Devin recognizes that the
Blessing is real and he has some difficult choices to
make. He chooses to trust in the Blessing and take the
time needed to help Maggie. With her father's snobbery and
prejudice against Irish and plans to marry his daughter to
another, Devin can see no future for them but will not
ignore what he is sure is The Blessing. When Maggie's
grandmother becomes ill, Devin helps her travel from Boston
to her grandmother's lumber mill in Maine. Is fate leading
him to a different opportunity to help his family? Can
Maggie's grandmother help Devin and Maggie risk all to find
happiness together? Again, the authors have combined a touch of fate and faith
with a feisty, loving heroine and strong, caring hero to
come up with a historical romance that was a pleasure to
read.
