"A heartwarming romance in time for the holidays"
Janice Thornton, a dedicated doctor, returns to the small
town where her grandparents had lived. Angel Ridge brings
back memories of happy times, and the only time that she
felt loved. When she goes to her grandparents' former
house, she meets the new owner, Blake Ferguson. She helps him decorate the outside of the house for
Christmas. Later, her uncle, the only doctor in Angel
Ridge, welcomes her and offers her his practice. Janice
feels that she must stay with her practice in the city,
even though she is drawn to Angel Ridge and Blake Ferguson.
Blake knows that he has found his mate in Janice, but
convincing her will be difficult. A HOME FOR CHRISTMAS is a heartwarming romance about two
lonely people, who find each other. Janice has learned to
keep herself aloof, so that she won't be hurt and
disappointed. Blake slowly whittles away at her defenses,
but he has issues of his own to overcome, before they can
be together. I could really identify with this small
southern town, and Ms. Staley captured the ambience and
idiosyncrasies of the small town very well. I have only one
small quibble with this book. I would have liked a more in
depth explanation of Blake's animosity towards his brother
sooner in the story. All in all, A HOME FOR CHRISTMAS was a
charming Christmas romance; I recommend it. Posted November 24, 2004

Dr. Janice Thornton has been lonely for too long, especially at Christmas. But Angel Ridge, Tennessee, the one place that holds the key to what family should be, is offering her a chance at a new life. Could she find happiness by taking over her uncle's small town practice? Local contractor and carpenter Blake Ferguson comes from a big family. He'd like to fill his rambling old Victorian with one of his own. But there's one problem. He needs a wife! When Janice shows up at his house, Blake sets a course to win her, but soon finds she's built a wall around her heart this master carpenter finds difficult to dismantle. Can the magic of an Angel Ridge Christmas bring hearts home or will old hurts create an obstacle even the town's legendary angels can't overcome?
