"Kendrian series keeps getting better and better"
The third novel set in the erotic world of the Kendrian's,
Patrice Michelle has created a very well thought out,
sensuous world of Vampires living and loving unobtrusively
among us with each fulfilling the original promise of an
intriguing spell binding series. Duncan Moordor of the Ruean clan, is Ian's twin, and as a
hybrid has spent his life in the shadows, neither Vampire
nor human, embracing neither. His existence has worried
his
brother Ian for years and when a vampire goes rogue and
kidnaps a human woman, Ian sends Duncan out to rescue her. Rose is a PI, whose secretive client will pay her $7000
for
any evidence of the existence of Vampires. When a visit to
a hot night spot, puts her in the path of James, a member
of the Sythen Clan, something about her drives him rogue,
and after telling her of the existence of the Kendrian's,
he kidnaps her. When Duncan finds her bound and gagged, he
too senses something special about Rose, and finds himself
possessively protective of her. Duncan has vowed never to willingly turn another, nor to
ever mate, not wishing to pass on his hybrid status on to
another. Rose wants nothing to do with men at all, having
had a traumatic experience when she was younger, she does
however want a baby and the money from this job will pay
for the AI she desperately wants. Duncan is the first man
with whom she has ever felt "safe" and when their
passionate exchange comes close to consummation, she
refuses to allow Duncan to make love to her with a condom
and he refuses to do so without - creating an incredibly
frustrating impasse for both. When an ancient vampire shows up in Rose's life things get
very complicated very quickly, and in a effort to sort out
the mystery of her heritage, Rose joined by Duncan,
journeys to Ireland to learn of the heritage her Mother
had
been unable to share with her before her death many years
earlier. This is an incredibly sensual novel dealing with two
stubborn, hard headed individuals who are passionately
drawn to each other and terrified at what letting down
their barriers will reveal about themselves. This is my
favorite book in the series to date, in a series that just
keeps getting better and better. Kudos to Ms Michelle for
creating such an incredibly sensual and erotic world where
honor as well as emotion thrive. A thoroughly enjoyable
read by any standard. Courtesy Eternal Night
