"action-packed science fiction romance"
Javel Marchand has been working undercover on Zurin Five as
a prison guard in order to obtain evidence against the
Duran Corporation, which has been producing a highly
addictive, illegal drug, reefer. Javel, who is part
Karatzin, a reptile-like alien race, has some enhanced
senses and abilities. Javel learns that Xerna Arriate, a
woman who he has always loved, will be his superior officer
and his assigned partner. Xerna, who is also part Karatzin
and hates that part of her heritage, is fighting the
affects of being in a Karatzin heat. When the planet starts
self-destructing, Javel and Xerna must work together to
make it to the surface from deep in the underground prison. EVIDENCE is an action-packed science fiction romance, which
is a nice addition to the Garrison series. EVIDENCE not
only has exciting moments of action, it has complex
characters struggling with their inner turmoil. Xerna
struggles with her hated Karatzin ancestry and has used it
as an excuse to distance herself from others. Javel
struggles with feelings of inferiority, because he was a
poor servant in Xerna's wealthy family household. I loved
the fact that Xerna could take care of herself-- she didn't
always need the hero to save her. Javel and Xerna, each had
to save the other on more than one occasion. The Garrison
series is a must read, and EVIDENCE is an enjoyable part of
this wonderful series.
