"a tale which encompasses many Irish fables"
Dara Neilan's life is changed when she meets a handsome,
mysterious red-haired stranger at a party. Later, Dara
goes to a secluded spot to meet Rowan, but she is shot
with a silver tipped arrow and is in mortal danger. Dara
and Rowan are Kanjali shifters, a race of canine shifters
from Ireland. A Hound, the enemy of the Kanjali, has been
stalking Dara and finally makes the hit. Fortunately,
Rowan succeeds in healing Dara, but the Hound is still
stalking them. Rowan and Dara flee to the Lower Realm with
the aid of a banshee. Will Rowan and Dara survive the
Hound's wrath? Ms. Madigan weaves a tale, which encompasses many Irish
fables- I found this quite fascinating. Rowan is a great
hero. Besides his unusual hair color- don't see many red-
haired heroes- he is witty, protective and allows the
heroine to make her own decisions. Dara, on the other
hand, annoyed me. Dara seemed rather bad tempered, but she
was thrown into a situation of which she had little
knowledge. In an attempt to protect her, Dara's parents
kept her heritage from her. She does know that she is a
shifter but little else. DESTINED is an erotic romance, so
steamy sex scenes are prevalent. All in all, DESTINED is a good erotic, fantasy romance
with a great deal of Irish folklore. I recommend it. Posted September 28, 2005

"On the third night, Dara. I know about Aidan. Come to me if you value your life." Dara O'Shea-Neilan stared in disbelief at the muscle-bound stranger as the words left his mouth. A swim teacher based in Oregon, Dara is still getting over the loss of Aidan, her husband, three years ago. She sure didn't count on her forgotten Irish roots popping up so…startlingly… Yet, there that perfect stranger stood, giving her a sizzling once-over… Rowan Mackey. Six-and-a-half feet of fiery-haired Irishman.
Mackey insists that Dara is his long-destined lifemate. He wants to take her to Ireland, to visit some…dick-shaped stone… Rowan Mackey sized up the hot, wee package confronting him.
Night-dark hair. Chocolate-brown eyes. Killer attitude. A small body that he wanted to explore with his tongue, inch by slow inch. Dara… He liked how her name tasted. She was his Chosen lifemate by the ancient Law, and he was determined to make her his own, the Kanjali way—by mating with her against Lia Fáil, the Stone of Destiny, upon the Hill of Tara. But first, he needed to save her life…
