"Fantastic story!"
As a vampire that's been around since the beginning of the
United States, Reece Champion has seen many things, but
none of them as upsetting as when his friend and fellow
agent "turned" a young woman which caused the young woman
to go insane. After she killed Reece's friend, Reece was
forced to kill her. Ever since that time, Reece himself
will take no chance on accidentally "turning" any woman.
Reece is part of a select group. You see, Merlin and Nimue
really did exist. They were from another planet, a place
where Magic is commonplace. They were sent to Earth as
guardians, to ensure the continuation of humans. In order
to ensure the Earth would remained populated with humans,
Merlin sent the Knights of the Round Table to find the Holy
Grail and those judged worthy were allowed to drink from
it. The men became vampires, powerful beings able to shape
shift. The woman became Majae, very strong witches able to
do magic. These people were not exactly celibate and had
many descendants. And these descendants are
called "Latents". In order to turn a "Latent", a member of
the Magekind must climax with them three times. Of course,
this "turning" does sometimes cause insanity, so before
they can be turned, they must undergo an examination by the
Majae. Anyone turned without permission is subject to being
killed. At a party for the company he started for his descendants,
Reece spots her across the room. He can smell the fact
she's a Latent. So he immediately goes up to her with the
hopes of spending at least one night with her. Erin Grayson
is at this party for a reason. Almost destroyed when her
partner killed himself, she was recruited by the Outfit.
They are attempting to stop the killer cults and since they
feel Reece is behind the funding of one cult in particular,
Erin is to get close to him. Becoming a bit closer than she
was expecting, her boss and another man show up at Reece's
place. Both Reece and Erin are in shock when the man kills
Erin's boss and then imprisons them in some sort of cage.
The next thing you know, a demon appears before them and
this monster has a plan to rid the world of the Magi. The
demon is going to cage the two of them together until Reece
eventually "turns" Erin. Then he plans on sacrificing them,
somehow casing a spell which will kill all the vampires and
Majae. The two of them end up alone in the room, unable to
escape. Will Reece "turn" Erin? If he does, will she go insane and
will he be forced to kill her? Will they be able to stop
the demon's plans? MASTER OF THE NIGHT is a thrilling, chilling read! Angela
Knight has managed once again to combine a hot erotic read
with plenty of action and danger. I became swept up in the
story from the very first page hated to put the book down!
I really loved the whole Mageverse theory with Merlin and
Nimue and how the Knights of the Round Table evolved and
still exist in the present day! This is one of my favorite
legends to read about and I truly enjoyed the twist Angela
Knight has put to it. The sparks explode between Reece and
Erin from their very first meeting. Both are wounded, Erin
after watching the man she loved kill himself rather than
her and Reece with being forced to kill a friend's insane

American agent Erin Grayson has a new mission: romance international businessman Reece Champion.
