"action, mystery, and a fantastic love story"
Since the age of nine, Liane has been in Cardrak prison,
and the punishment she received during her incarceration
has left her terrified of the dark. After eleven long
years , Liane's people, the Reeka's, learn that she is not
dead, as was thought. The Reekas are a race of warrior
women who were falsely declared outlaws, but with the aid
of the people of Daamen, cleared their name. After Liane's
release is arranged, her cousins send a band of Daamen
traders to fetch her home. Unfortunately, Liane is barely
holding on to her sanity and doesn't trust easily. Borga,
one of the Daamens, takes a special interest in Liane, and
she seems to be coming out of her shell. However, danger
lurks in the form of unknown enemies. Ms. Verdenius should be ashamed! I had to stay up well past
my bedtime to finish this great book. SOUL OF THE FORGOTTEN
has wonderful characters, action, mystery, and a fantastic
love story. Liane has to overcome many demons in order to
trust, and give Borga a chance. Borga is a large, handsome
man whose world comes to center around Liane. As for the
secondary characters, the Daamen traders all would make
great heroes, and Liane is lucky enough to be surrounded by
several. What woman wouldn't want to be rescued by Daamen
men, these men are seriously hot and are loveable
characters-- if a little overprotective. Woven throughout
SOUL OF THE FORGOTTEN is an intriguing mystery, and I hated
for it to end. I'll be waiting impatiently for Ms.
Verdenius' next book. Posted August 21, 2006
