"Suspenseful paranormal series sure to have you wanting your own SENTINAL"
Damien was a SENTINAL who, because of childhood
experiences, chose not to let his emotions interfere with
his duties to defend our world against the Belians. While
on assignment in a small Texas town, he discovered Kara
and
Alex, her 6 yr-old son, whom he recognized as a SENTINAL
in
need of training. Kara's psi-ability had brought her only painful
knowledge
until she met Richard, her SENTINAL husband who linked her
psi to his powers to battle the Belian evil. She loved
but
lost him during a Belian attack and has made a new life
focused on raising and protecting their child. After 6
years in hiding, fate has brought another SENTINAL into
Kara's life. She could not refuse Damien's aid to protect
and train her son, but could she resist the physical needs
his psi-link inspire? Or was it more than just psi? Award winning author Catherine Spangler has introduced
us
to the SENTINALS which will surely garner her more awards
for her story telling. Although a very sensual story,
TOUCHED BY DARKNESS was refreshing story where the heroine
did not choose to 'allow sex' to resolve concerns. Kara's
priority is her son rather than the complex attack of
Belian evil in the community. Her son was accurately
portrayed as a 6-yr-old with special abilities that he did
not understand but viewed with normal curiosity for his
heritage and skills. Although part of the plot with the
focus of all protecting him, there was nothing that made
me
uncomfortable with his place in the story. The conflict between protecting her child and assisting
in 'protecting the world' was realistic and well
described. The SENTINAL & BELIAN conflict and how it
affected others was an interesting part of the story. The
touch of reincarnation bringing the battle of good against
evil was skillfully done. I look forward to more tales of
SENTINALS [Book two of the Sentinel series, TOUCHED BY
