"Not just for children! A classic fantasy"

OK, I admit it. I have heard all the hoopla and decided to check it out. This is a cute story and I highly recommend it. Most of my information about this series has been second-hand until now. I miss having young children as it was always an excuse to go with them to a Disney movie or read them a children's classic. It is nice to see a new classic developing and I suggest you don't miss it just because it is for children. Read it... recognizing the age group it is written for with its childlike fantasy while enjoying the plot. As it is a children's story, of course it is different than paranormal romance, but it is a paranormal that can be enjoyed even though you are no longer a child.

Recognize firstly that we are not "in our world" so the world where we find Harry in is not entirely like ours. The events of Harry's early life are not all that promising and occasionally strange things happen. He seems a bit confused about why he is being treated this way by his uncle & family. As his 11th birthday and the new school season approaches, he is finding suddenly that even more strange things are happening. Much is explained on his birthday. To find out that he is considered a famous wizard was astounding, but to be going to Hogwarts School of Wizardry was a greatest present of all. We find out about this alternative world -- a secret wizard's world -- with Harry and as things unfold become friends with some the other characters.

I love Hagrid -- a bumbling but lovable wizard. Visiting a world of magic is fun and with us learning the rules along with Harry it is easy to enjoy the trip. Meeting some of the mythical creatures and envisioning the world is easy as the settings are well done.

Harry and his friends stumble upon the master wizards secret at the school. They must save the Sorcer's Stone from evil... but which master wizard is joined with evil? By joining forces can 3 novice wizards handle and experienced wizard and save the stone?
