"A wonderful fantasy of light and dark!"
Medea has vengeance on the mind. Once the mistress of the
powerful lord Mako, she is his creature in every way, right
down to the evil ways inside her. Now, she has discovered
she might be able to recover the Orb of Dalis, a creation
by the Goddess herself, and by using it, she will be able
to control the world. Also at the top of her list of things
to accomplish is the destruction of Iliana, the Trancer
that usurped her place with Mako and caused his death. Even though she escaped Mako's cruelty and vileness, Iliana
did not manage to do this without cost to herself. Though
she was trained as Trancer, Iliana can no longer access
this part of herself. When her lord, Talon, finds out about
Medea's quest to find the Orb of Dalis, he commands the
trainer of his warriors, Lore, to also begin a quest for
the Orb. After a vision, which both Lore and Iliana share,
they know they must undertake the quest together. After
repeatedly asking Lore to train her in weapons, Iliana
finally manages to become his Apprentice. So now, the two of them undertake the quest, Master and
Apprentice. There is an attraction between them and has
always been, though neither of them has acted upon it. They
must find four talismans, which will lead them to the Orb.
However, neither one of them is aware they are being
followed by Medea and a Reaper. Will Iliana and Lore be able to pass the tests to find the
Orb? Will Iliana ever be able to reach her Trancer gifts
again? What of Medea? THE SEEKER is a wonderful fantasy, filled with both light
and dark. Sharron McClellan has done a wonderful job of
showing both the light and the dark within Iliana. In the
beginning of our story, she is filled with hatred and rage
and darkness. As she and Lore become closer through the
different tests they face, she begins to learn to control
her dark side and eventually, allows the light inside her.
She must learn to come to grips with her past and overcome
it. Lore is a warrior through and through, big, strong and
brave. He knows Iliana must learn to control her anger
before she will ever have a chance at regaining her Trancer
powers. We also have the added dangers of the ones
following our pair on their quest. If you enjoy a good
fantasy, I highly recommend Sharron McClellan's THE SEEKER! Reviewed by Chere Gruver

Sequel to The Given. Trancer Iliana was once imprisoned by the wicked Reaper, Lord Mako. Now she is free--but only in body. Her mind and soul remain captive because she has lost her mystical gift to read the unseen currents of life that surround all living things. She would do anything to forget her haunting past and be free of the fear and anger that consume her. Lore, a Warrior by blood, defied tradition to help a friend. In his new position, he discovers a Iliana, damaged by the defeated Reaper Lord. But their world is not safe. A vision convinces him that she is the key to his latest assignment--to find the Orb of Dalis. Once every 100 seasons, the Gate of Dalis opens the world of Danu to complete annihilation or rejuvenation. Iliana and Lore embark on a quest, braving deadly trials, to seek the four talismans that are the key to finding the Orb of Dalis. But they are not alone in their quest. Medea, a Reaper and once Mako's Mistress, also seeks the Orb. She would do anything to gain it--including kill all who stand in her way. The fate of the world of Danu lies in their hands?
