"A truly charming and delightful book!"
This is Book One of the Septimus Heap chronicles. I have to
say that if the rest of the books stack up to this one,
then I believe this series will be as popular as the Harry
Potter books. Silas and Sarah Heap are proud parents of seven sons but
their seventh son Septimus died at birth. While Sarah
grieved she didn't have time to grieve for long because on
the way home Silas found a beautiful newly born baby girl
in the snow. Marcia, the Extraordinary Wizard tells Silas
to tell no one how he found her. They name the baby Jenna and discover exactly who she is on
her 10th birthday. That's the day all of their lives
change. An assassin comes to kill Jenna because she's the
princess and has been hidden away all these years. Now the
whole Heap family is on the run. Silas and Sara decide that
Jenna needs to go to their aunt Zelda for safekeeping. A
whole entourage goes composed of Silas, his son Nicko,
Marcia, the Extraordinary Wizard and Boy 412 from the Young
Army whom they saved from freezing to death. They have to
hurry because the Hunter is after them and he has
extraordinary hunting abilities. This is just the beginning of the many adventures they face
before all is right with the magical world. I thoroughly
enjoyed this truly enchanting book and eagerly await Book
Two. Angie Sage has created a truly charming and delightful
world that I hope to be able to visit again and again. We
also get a lovely little CD to enjoy telling us about the
book and the author. I highly recommend this superb story. Reviewed by Kathy Boswell Posted April
