"A truly wonderful fantasy!"
Princess Keahla was sent into the future by the Druid to
find the Wolf,
a
great warrior. The only man who can save her people in her
time. As she
looks up at a cliff, she sees a man on a horse and
immediately wonders
if he
is the one she was sent to retrieve. Naturally, those
chasing her won't
let
her find out and end up capturing her. Ever since his wife was murdered and had their unborn child
cut out of
her
body, Radin Hawk hasn't done much of anything. He still
feels his
father's
seer is responsible for the death of his soul mate, the
only woman he
will
ever love. Now, the fool expects him to find his future
bride on a
ship, of
all things. When he first refused to leave, his father, the
king of
Wolfhead, threatened to disinherit Radin. So, very
reluctantly, Radin
goes
to meet his destiny. On the way to the docks, he comes
across a woman
being
chased by some men. Knowing he won't get down the cliff
quickly enough
to
save her, he tries anyway, and as expected, she's gone. And
Radin
continues
into town and meets up with a friend, Mace. Since Radin
needs a new
horse,
the two of them proceed to find one and happen across the
very woman
Radin
saw on the beach. Big surprise, she's being sold as a
slave. Not
surprisingly, Radin buys her. When the two of them go
through a time
portal
to Keahla's time, Mace decides to follow, but ends up in
the queen's
dungeon
instead of finding his friend. Eventually, Radin finds himself in a group of rebels
consisting of a
Druid,
an elf, Princess Keahla and some of her loyal soldiers. It
turns out
her
father was poisoned and Keahla was accused of the crime.
With the help
of
her younger brother, who remained in the castle with his
evil
stepmother,
Keahla escaped. It turns out, this evil stepmother is an
evil sorceress
who
wants to bring back her lover, the blood king. Will this group of rebels be able to stop the evil
sorceress? Is Keahla
really a reincarnation of Radin's murdered wife? Is Radin
really the
Wolf?
And exactly who is this Druid and what is his agenda? And
don't forget
the
elf, how is he connected to this mess? TIME OF THE WOLF is a truly wonderful fantasy. Julie D'Arcy
has
included a
bit of everything, including elves. There's terrible
monsters, an evil
sorceress determined to get what she wants, regardless of
the cost in
human
lives. We see true nobility in the character of Alarin,
Keahla's
brother.
And, of course, a love meant to be between Radin and
Keahla, and a love
lost
between the Druid and sorceress. I have to admit, fantasy
is my
favorite
genre and this one is a highly engaging, wonderful story to
read. It
did
exactly what it was supposed to, it allowed me to escape
reality as I
became
caught up in Radin's and Keahla's story. If you enjoy the
old "good
versus
evil", complete with magic, time travel, monsters and
elves, don't pass
this
one up. I'm so glad I had the chance to read it and I know
you will be
as
well. Chere Gruver

In another time,
In a another realm,
Back through the swirling mists of antiquity... Brekan, Druid of the ancient order of Palandor sends Keahla, outlawed Princess of Carrum Bahl, through a time portal to seek Radin Hawk, reincarnated soul of Ambroch, King of the Wolfhead. Brekan must join together the Selected Four on the night that the moons are as one to re-enact the ritual that can raise the Blood King, Czaten, from the undead. Brekan needs Radin to slay the Blood King, so he himself can be released from a curse of immortality, which the gods of creation brought down upon him when he unwittingly tampered with the fates. But first they must wake him. A handful of heroes must strive to be the first to uncover Arkgeld the lost spell book of Palandor, for only with this mystical book, can they unlock the spell to raise Czaten from his ensorcelled slumber. But they are not the only ones who seek the book. Anayha, Sorceress Queen, who through an enchantment of her own has managed to cheat death, also searches for the ancient tome to raise her former lover. Will the Blood King live and bring chaos down upon the world as Anayha wishes? Or be slain by the hand of Radin Hawk, as Brekan has planned? And will Radin in following Brekan's plan, leave the woman he has loved in every lifetime undefended to once again die by an enemy's hand? What begins as a quest to stop a, Witch Queen, from raising her lover to destroy a nation, becomes a battle against the dark side of human nature...and a race against the crumbling gates of time.
