"Deeply detailed, Richly Plotted Time Travel Romance"
Sullivan is a thoroughly modern woman. Her goal in life is
to escape her ex-boyfriend and to write a real play. Then
she takes a research trip, and things get a lot more
interesting. While deep into the Birnam mine, her world is
twisted. She finds herself facing the handsome mine owner -
a man who was murdered over a hundred years before! She
saves his life, and then collapses.... Mac Blackwell is, understandably, grateful to be alive. His
is also more than a little suspicious. The only way, in his
mind, that Ciara could have been in the depths of the mine
to save him would be if she were one of his attackers
herself. He's drawn to her anyway. Vivid and free like no
other woman he knows, Ciara entrances him. Danger still
threatens Mac, though, and Ciara may be the only one who
can save him. Can their love survive not only danger, but
time itself? The book is a deeply detailed, richly plotted and somewhat
unconventional Time Travel Romance. While Ciara and Mac are
great characters, and the story's sweet, upbeat tone is
perfect for this type of novel, Donovan's true success is
in the creation of the setting--in this case, not only the
place, but the time as well. RETURN TO ME delves into the
coal industry in a way few romance novels do, touching on
not only the characters, or the society, but also the
social conditions of both the people themselves and the
time period at large. Ciara is clearly a modern woman, and Mac, the wonderful
coal baron that he is, rises remarkably to the challenge
she presents. Their relationship grows over the mystery of
Ciara's presence in the past, and the danger that surrounds
them. Though somewhat light on character development, this
e-novel is still interesting and entertaining. Readers be
warned, however, that it does feature a heroine who sets
out to right the world with her superior modern knowledge,
blowing off the conventions of the time she wound up in
left and right. If that's exactly what you're looking for
in your TT, then RETURN TO ME is for you. Reviewed by Ann Leveille

She changed history to save him... Playwright Ciara Sullivan is about to pen a new ending to a
pair of historical murders. While researching the deaths of
nineteenth century actress, Maeve Blackwell, and her coal
baron son, Mac, she finds herself much closer to her
subjects than she ever imagined. Arriving in the past just
moments before Mac's death, Ciara saves his life. Suddenly
her play about murder and deception has a new plot twist -
romance. He opened his heart to the enemy...
Mac Blackwell never imagined he'd owe his life to a woman.
In fact, he's spent the better part of his thirty-seven
years avoiding the gender all together. Common sense tells
him Ciara's mysterious appearance points to a Molly Maguire
conspiracy. So why is he making a place for her in his
home, exposing his family and his heart to certain
treachery? And why is he so perilously close to breaking
his cardinal rule-never fall in love?
