"Satisfying historical romp"
Time-travel/highlands romance. Rated 'R' by Ellora's Cave.
Evidently Tia Isabella is the pen name Jaid Black, author
of many contemporary and futuristic erotic scorchers, uses
when she writes tamer novels -- R rated. AFTER THE STORM is
set mostly in the Highlands of Scotland in the early
Maya Jones is a modern woman in contemporary Florida -- an
anthropologist. Caught by a hurricane, she and her best
friend Sara get swept back in time to meet Thomas MacGregor
and the clan he is laird of. What follows is a romp similar
(very similar) in style to Black's epic Empress' New
Clothes. Fans of one will surely love the other.
While there is less sex in this volume than in an NC17
rated novel, the sex scenes are still steamy and
fulfilling. My one gripe was with the mercurial mood swings
of Thomas and Maya in the early part of the story, making
them both seem a bit unbalanced, but this is solved before
we reach the halfway point and both characters seem to find
their equilibrium. Those who find such things objectionable
or trying, however, should take note.
All in all, After the Storm was a very satisfying read, and
well worth looking into.
