"satisfying blend of sensuality and mystery"
Amy Callestine is a tough and competent vice squad
detective for the Phoenix police department. She has
worked her share of the usual vice tedium but this new
assignment has really gotten her attention. Chief
Gutierrez wants her to investigate Antonio Martin, owner
of the adult club Desert Heat. He is suspected of
smuggling drugs across the border, and they need someone
to infiltrate the private club and get some information to
help the case. Amy's experience and obvious "assets" make
her the perfect officer for the assignment, much to the
dismay of Captain Max Scully. She had a brief affair with
her boss after joining the force and has been paying for
the lapse in judgment ever since. Max is overprotective,
controlling, and driving her crazy. Amy is more than a little excited about the assignment.
She has always had a secret desire to shed her inhibitions
and enjoy her body and the pleasure it can bring. Working
vice has been the next best thing; she can observe what
she is not comfortable participating in. Observing had
always been enough; until she entered Desert Heat, and met
Antonio Martin. Amy has never felt more alive than when she is in
Antonio's arms, but how can she reconcile sleeping with
the man she was sent to investigate? She continues her
investigation to uncover the true nature of his shipments,
but when she discovers the truth, will she be able to
follow her heart and do what needs to be done? Desert heat is a satisfying blend of sensuality and
mystery. With interesting characters and a great story,
this author's debut is a sexy read not to be missed. Posted July 10, 2005
