The prophecies have now come to pass and the Apocalypse is
upon us. Demonic spawns have been released from their
prison and the hideous beasts roam the streets, preying on
the souls of remaining humans. For those who refuse to
take the mark of the beast, torture and death await. Melina Soar is just trying to stay alive, and protect her
younger brother Adam. Forced to hide out and scavenge for
food, their existence has been reduced to mere survival,
and hope is nearly lost. And if that is not bad enough,
her brother is making unexplained trips into the night and
is becoming more and more distant. When Archangel, Rafe
Santos, appears and saves her from certain death at the
hands of a demon, can Melina believe his claims that their
shared destiny is part of a divine plan? And can Rafe
convince Melina that she is the Chosen One, and that the
fate of mankind may hinge on her belief? RAFE'S WAR is the first book in the Apocalypse series by
author Jade James. The author has created an ominous
atmosphere, where danger lurks at every turn. The
characters are strong but not hardened; doing what they
must to survive but hope remains. The chemistry between
Melina and Rafe is very intense and amplified by the dark
and dangerous mood created by Ms. James' skilled writing.
At first glance, the religious tone of the story would not
seem to match the erotic content, but the author makes it
work. The series will continue with the mysterious
Archangel Gabriel, which promises to be an exciting read.
Readers looking for dark, sensual fantasy will want to

The humans thought they had years before the foretold apocalypse would arrive. They were wrong... The angels and chosen humans are to unite, to save the world from endless destruction, resulting in a bonding that will last forever. Archangel Rafe's assignment is twofold; convince Melina to join him eternally, and to protect her against the evil that stalks her. Love was the last thing he was expecting to find. Even with everything she's seen, Melina's not prepared when Rafe saves her. He claims she was destined to be his wife, but Melina can’t accept that idea without his love.
