"Rene's story and it's a good one"
I honestly did not think that Sandra Hill could write a
hotter Cajun but much to my delight she proved me wrong
with Rene's story! All I can say is WHEW! Make sure to have
a fan and a box of tissues with this one! Rene LeDeux, burned out from lobbying for his beloved
Louisiana bayou in Washington, DC, decides to come home and
build his cabin. He's sure he can find a job locally. While
working on his cabin, he gets a visit from his Tante Lulu
(yes, the very one) who brings his hope chest and lets him
know he's next on her list to settle down before she dies
(as if). The next thing Rene knows is Valerie "Ice" Breaux has been
dumped in his lap by some of his activist friends. They
think this will get the media's attention about the plight
of the bayou. Val is now a big wig on Trial TV and
unbeknownst to everyone had a bit of a past with Rene in
high school. She is also Sylvie's cousin. As you may
recall, Sylvia is married to Luc LeDeux, Rene's brother. It
just gets curiouser and curiouser. Tante Lulu decides that Val is 'the one' for Rene even
though she detests Val. It could be worse, right? Now all
Lulu has to do is make sure the 'thunderbolt' hits. This is
in between planning her 80th birthday party and obsessing
over Richard Simmons. Oh my, the delights in store for you
with this story!! Everyone in the whole LeDeux clan gets involved in this
story. I'm happy to report Tee-John plays a major role in
this one and Tante Lulu isn't finished with him yet. Oh
that story should be quite a fascinating one!! I for one
will be standing in line when Sandra decides to write it. I
highly recommend THE RED-HOT CAJUN. Do not walk, RUN to the
nearest book store and grab this one up! Reviewed by Kathy Boswell
