"Thrilling Vampire Romance!"
Rather than being forced into a marriage she does not want,
Fianna runs away from home. Ever since her father died,
Fianna's life hasn't been the same. When her mother married
again, Fianna's life took a turn for the worse. Deciding to
head for the capital city of Moytura in the hopes of losing
herself among all the people, Fianna is set upon and has
her dress and shoes stolen. Of course, this is the dress
she's sewn all her coins and jewels in. Now without any
money, Fianna continues on her way. Deciding to spend a
night in a cave, Fianna finds it already occupied. For some
reason, Fianna finds this man extremely attractive and is
sorry she won't see him again. Finally arriving in Moytura, Fianna finds a job working in
an inn fortune telling. Fianna has always been able to scry
and will now use her talent to make her way in the world.
Imagine Fianna's surprise when the man she met in the cave
comes to her to have his fortune told. Of course, what
Fianna sees in her mirror shocks her. Gaderian is having his home built, but it's not quite ready
for him to occupy! Yet. This is the reason he's spending
his days in the cave. As a vampire, Gaderian must be
careful since there is a reward offered for the capture of
his kind in Moytura. The reason for this is that the
Bandregas are killing humans and blaming the vampires for
their deaths. Bandregas are demons and have now somehow
managed to find the ability to appear human. Gaderian is
determined to stop the Bandregas, one way or another.
Showing up at the inn for a meeting with a friend, Gaderian
once again runs into Fianna. When Gaderian notices Stilo's
attraction to Fianna, he determines to protect her at all
costs. The two of them become friends, often spending time
together after Fianna is done telling fortunes for the day.
Eventually, Fianna learns Gaderian is a vampire. Is there a future for Fianna and Gaderian? What of the man
Fianna was supposed to marry? Will he give up, or will he
pursue Fianna? And then we add Stilo into the mix with his
attraction for Fianna. What will he do to win the beautiful
Fianna? Will the vampires be able to stop the Bandregas
from killing? NIGHT SHADOWS is a wonderful vampire romance. S.A. Martin
once again brings us back to the kingdom of Avador, which
we were first introduced to in NIGHT SECRETS. A kingdom of
magic, vampires and demons. I was pulled into the story
from the very first page and didn't want to stop reading. I
found it easy to identify with Fianna, trying to find our
own way in the world and gain her independence, while
avoiding being forced into doing something she didn't want
to, and all the while, missing her mother and brother. Even
though he is a vampire, Gaderian makes a wonderful hero.
The vampires of Avador have made it their pledge to protect
the humans and never kill when they feed. This is a
wonderful story of love and danger and is one you don't
want to miss!
