"Beautifully written historical romance!"
Babur was a Timurid, a prince of royal connections and a
descendant of the great Timur-I-Leng. Ruling over Ferghana,
a small province, Babur has dreams of conquering and ruling
Samarkand. Finally deciding no time like the present, Babur
gathers his forces together and advances on Samarkand.
Unbeknownst to Babur, Samarkand just lost their ruler and
don't have a new one yet. Rather than withstand a siege,
Samarkand surrenders and Babur takes over the city. While
wandering through his new domain, Babur is attacked.
Finally managing to subdue the assassin, Babur grabs the
man's shirt to discover the man is a woman! It turns out
she is a descendant of Hamida, a woman gifted to Timur and
is herself named Hamida. Hamida decides to give herself to Babur, however, she will
only do so as an equal and demands to remain a soldier. She
refuses to enter his harem. So the two of them enter into a
relationship where they spend the nights in each other's
arms and the days with Hamida as one of Babur's personal
guards. When they hear of trouble back in Ferghana, Babur
knows he must return to maintain his status as ruler. Will they be able to keep Hamida's secret? What will become
of Babur and Ferghana? Will he still have the province to
rule? And what will happen in Samarkand while he is gone? SOLDIER OF SENSUAL FORTUNE is a wonderful romance set in a
time long past. Emy Naso once again proves his knowledge of
history with each page we turn in this highly erotic tale.
I really enjoyed the character of Babur, forced by
circumstances into being a soldier when he would have been
happiest as a scholar. And then we have Hamida, a beautiful
woman forced into masquerading as a male to do what she was
trained to do. And through all the events occurring in this
story, they still remain lovers, teaching each other all
kinds of sensual delights. If you enjoy a historical
romance, this is one you don't want to miss.
