"Adult fantasy romance told with style and skill"
Shapeshifter Dragon Darius en Kragin has had the duty is to
kill anyone who enters the city of Atlantis through the
mist portal since he was eight. He has lived within himself
to the point where emotions and colors are a vague part of
his life. That is until a fiery red-headed woman comes
through the portal bringing back color and emotions. Grace comes to Brazil looking for her brother who is
employed by the Argonauts and searching to find Atlantis.
In her brother's journal, Atlantis is described an exotic
city populated by dragons, vampires, centaurs, and other
beings of myth and legend. When she arrives through the
mist, she faces a scarred warrior whose sword barely misses
her. She attributes the necklace her brother sent her as
the reason Darius has spared her, but is that the only
reason? It is found that Argonauts have joined with vampires and
invaded the mist castle at the second portal entrance.
Grace and Darius must work together to save Atlantis and
her brother. But can they find a way for human and dragon
to share their life? If they cannot stop the Argonauts,
there will not be a life to share. HEART OF THE DRAGON is an easy-reading and fast-paced story
with good verses evil and love conquering all. Critics may
say the plot is predictable, but no one can say this story
is not entertaining reading. Ms. Showalter has brought us
to a believable "inner" world and characters for which you
care. There are explicit romantic scenes; so this is an
adult fantasy romance. The story is told with style and
skill having no need to resort to shocking language for
emphasis which I appreciated. I will definitely look up her
other stories and look forward to future books by this
author.
