"A Fantastically Funny Twist on the Romantic vampire tale!"
Joy Randall along with her best friend, who is obsessed
with all things vampire, Roxanne [Roxy for short], are
about to leave on a European vacation. One of their stops
will be in Czech Republic, home of the well-known vampire
writer, who Roxy worships. Of course, before they leave
Roxy makes an appointment for them with the local friendly
witch. They are hoping to glean some information of where
their love lives are headed. Roxy gets some good news that
in a few months time mister right should show up. However
Joy's reading is a bit darker, as she is told there will
be
two men, and not necessarily the kind you bring home to
meet the parents. No sooner do the two arrive, Blansko does the chaos ensue
and comedy begin. As luck would have it there is a Gothic
fair in town and Roxy has signed them up to attend. Joy,
although not thrilled, decides to humor her and attend.
Enter hunk, I mean, the head of security for the fair,
Raphael Griffin St. John, who literally sweeps Joy off her
feet. Of course this is following a hallucination that
causes her to fall backwards in her chair. And just when you think the hero has entered the room,
another tall dark and mysterious man named Christian shows
up. And Joy feels confused as he touch seems to evoke
strange feelings inside her that are not that dissimilar
to
Raphael's. Ms. MacAlister has written a fantastically funny twist on
the romantic vampire tale. She had me guessing for some
time as to who was the vampire and who wasn't. Her side-
kick, Roxy is albeit annoying the way she stirs up
trouble,
but ultimately a best friend, through and through. I
enjoyed the romantic confusion that Joy experienced as
both
Raphael and Christian pursued her. Truly I did not whom I
wanted her to end up with in the end. A plot that keep me
thinking like this book did made it that much better
because it's hard to put it down until all your questions
are answered.

On a visit to the Czech Republic, Joy Randall (a skeptic of all things paranormal), is suddenly thrown into the dark, dangerous world where vampires known as Dark Ones stalk the night. Armed with nothing more than a wicked sense of humor and a bag of rune stones, Joy does her best to untangle the threads involving a serial killer, vampires (both real and pretend), and the handsome, mysterious man who may or may not be what he appears. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
