"The Queen of the Dead is back and she is funnier that Ever!"
Everybody at some point in their life has a bad day,
even a bad week. But when your name is Elizabeth Taylor
[Betsy for short], and you have been Queen of the Dead or
rather vampires for only six months...well a bad week
takes
on a whole new meaning. MaryJanice Davidson's third book
in the Undead series, Undead and Unappreciated... to put
it
simply, ROCKS! Betsy is doing her level best to adjust to her new role
as Queen. Luckily her best friend who just happens to be
richer than Bill Gates, has set them up in a humongous
sprawling mansion, along with her consort and King, Eric
Sinclair, who by-the-way has to pay rent along with
Betsy's gay doctor friend, Marc, whom she previously saved
from suicide. So as you can see life is running at status
quo for the new Queen as she continues to enlarge her shoe
collection, hang with friends both dead and undead,
routinely check up on her fiends and of course snap at
Eric Sinclair and his superior attitude even though he is
a hottie. However, as many of us well know, just as you get
settled in life has a tendency to pull the proverbial
carpet out from under you; and Betsy is no exception even
if she is undead. To her utter frustration she finds out
from Eric that she has a half sister who just so happens
to be the daughter of Satan. Unfortunately, Satan was
overwhelmed by her motherly duties and left so her half
sister was adopted out. And just to make matters worse in
order to learn more about her little half sisters prophesy
she will need to read the 'Book of the Undead.' Which, by-
the-way, can only be read in small doses or the reader
will be overcome by its evil influences. Oh and it's made
of skin. Need I say more? Betsy who is rather simple minded on
situations but ultimately has a heart of gold, decides to
read the book. I mean she is the Queen and as such has
been able to do many thing the Undead can't, like walk in
a church, hold a cross, or be stabbed with a stake and
remain standing, right?! And so the story explodes from
here as chaos reins and only Betsy's wonderful wit and
vampire style can save her from this tailspin. MaryJanice Davidson writes yet another spectacularly
hilarious book. I so appreciate the spin she puts on the
vampire theme/genre by using real life situations spiced
with humor to show the irony in being undead in today's
world. Ms. Davidson is a refreshing voice to the
paranormal reading experience. To say I recommend Undead
and Unappreciated would be an understatement. Buy this
book and let it cleanse your paranormal palette with
hilarious, blood sucking fun!

Most women would love to live as royalty, but Betsy has found that being vampire queen has more problems than perks, except for always being awake for Midnight Madness sales. It may be easy to find blood (yuck) in the dark of night, but try finding a strawberry smoothie. And employees at her nightclub Scratch have been giving her nothing but grief since she killed their former boss. Some people... But Betsy's "life" takes an interesting turn at a baby shower for her wicked stepmother, who lets it slip that Betsy has a long-lost half sister. Now twenty years old, this woman just so happens to be the devil's daughter...and destined to rule the world. Genre: Paranormal Romance, Vampire
