"Vampire story that tickles the imagination as well as the funny bone"
Rachel Garrett works in a hospital morgue and it seems
she's caught the flu going around. She faints while
removing the clothes of a handsome corpse because it had to
be delirium that he spoke! After a week's recuperation she
is back to work and has the unpleasant job of preparing a
burnt body from an exploded car. She was shocked to note
that he suddenly seemed alive. She is horrified when a
crazed man rushes in with an ax attacking the undead corpse
but mortally wounds her. Though the rules say you may only turn a life partner into
a vampire, Etienne Argeneau owes Rachel his life and will
not let her die. Rachel awakes to find the ax wound is
healing and she has more questions than answers. Her frame
of reference for vampire lore leaves a lot to be desired.
She is equal parts confused by her new lifestyle and
attraction to Etienne Although second in the series, this is actually a prequel
to SINGLE WHITE VAMPIRE; so you may prefer to read this
first. This is a light read meant for an entertaining 'mind
vacation' -- tickling the imagination as well as the funny
bone. Ms. Sands trademark writing style again presents
readers a unique and entertaining story.
