"This Series Finale Exceeded my Expectations!"
Susan Grant's The Scarlet Empress is a pulse pounding,
heart stopping, and spectacular conclusion to the 2176
Series. Definitely an author unafraid to blaze a new trail
in the romance writing world as Ms. Grant enlists three
other very talented authors to share in this fantastic
action romance series. By the time I finished this book I
felt completely satisfied. Capturing my attention from the start, The Scarlet
Empress, returns us to the humble heroine 'Banzai' Bree
Maguire, a fighter pilot lost 170 years in the future
where
freedom has been destroyed. But a voice speaks out calling
her to a destiny only she has the power to fulfill. In the
first book by Ms. Grant, The Legend of Banzai Maguire, it
closed with Bree accepting the challenge to help return
the
once proud United States, now called the UCE,to its former
glory of a freedom loving nation. Not having a clue as to
how one woman from a past long gone could make a
difference
she draws on the knowledge of the forefathers who founded
the United States to inspire and drive her on. However
there are those who like to see her dead for they are
happy
in the chaos that reins supreme. Bree does not travel this path alone as Ty Armstrong, a
Navy SEAL, embraces the challenge with her. And as the
relationship grows, our very independent Bree realizes if
she is going to survive this she will need his love and
support. As for Ty, he sees Bree as a legend/woman he has
searched for all his life. And now that he has finally
found her, no one will be allowed to take her away, even
if
it means severing ties with family. As Ty's father,
General 'Ax' Armstrong is the right hand man to the UCE's
President. And if that isn't enough to capture your attention, Ms.
Grant opens a whole new dimension to this amazing story by
awakening Banzai's thought to be lost wingman.
Cameron 'Scarlet' Tucker a very southern, blond and long-
legged woman who knows the meaning of true grit and how to
handle a man. Qualities she will need if she is going to
try and enlist the very sexy acting
Emperor, Prince Kyber to find and possibly save her best
friend Bree Maguire. I completely enjoyed Cameron's character; she was saucy
and unafraid to speak her mind. However, I do not want to
disclose much more as The Scarlet Empress needs to be
experienced first hand to truly appreciate it. Ms. Grant's mastery of weaving two amazing stories into
one is to be commended as she does an excellent job
demonstrating the power and price of true patriotism by
utilizing wonderful quotes from our forefathers. And while
the book reminds us not to take our freedom for granted,
it
also carries a fantastic plot with great twists, turns,
hot
romance and nonstop action. Oh and if your not sold yet.
She throws a real mind blowing reveal in the end! I think
it is safe to say I totally and unequivocally, 100%
recommend this book!
