"Ms. Ward has done it again!"
Unbeknownst to the human population, a war is being waged
that will determine the continuation of the vampire
species. Only one thing stands between survival and
extinction, The Black Dagger Brotherhood... Rhage, aka "Hollywood", has it all, fast cars, movie star
good looks, any female he desires; but looks can be
deceiving. Cursed by the Scribe Virgin, inside lurks a
beast with the ability to destroy all he cares for, and he
would sooner die than allow that to happen. When an
encounter with the Lessers unleashes the beast, he
undergoes a transformation that takes days to recover
from. While recuperating at the Brotherhood's compound,
Rhage encounters a female with a voice that has the
ability to sooth his savage beast. Though females mean
little more than release for him, there is something
different here that needs to be explored. Mary Luce, has fought her way back for the edge of death
and has learned to be strong and independent. After
watching her mother suffer and die after a long illness,
it seems like a cruel joke that she should be diagnosed
with leukemia; but she refuses to give in to the disease.
While volunteering at a suicide hotline, Mary meets a mute
boy who captures the interest of her neighbor, Bella. When
Mary accompanies them to the Brother's compound, she is
cornered by the beautifully dark and dangerous, Rhage.
Their encounter ignites a burning she would not have
believed possible. But how could a man like Rhage be
interested in an ordinary looking woman like her? And
besides, with her illness she is going to need all of her
energy to fight back, she has no time for a relationship.
When Rhage pursues Mary, against the advice of the
Brotherhood, they are both made to face their fears, and
reopen wounds that run so deep that any chance at
happiness seems lost. Ms. Ward has done it again! Lover Eternal is the much
anticipated second installment of The Black Dagger
Brotherhood series. Rhage and Mary's story is at once
edgy, raw, tender, and heart wrenchingly poignant. It is
difficult to convey in a review just how complex this
story is. The author has created an emotionally charged
story that will have the readers riding a roller coaster
along with the characters; hold on tight, you're in for a
bumpy ride. Readers will get a glimpse of characters that
will be explored in future books, and will be pacing the
floor waiting for the next installment in this fantastic
series. Zsadist's story is coming in Lover Awakened,
September 2006. Review date: March 13, 2006
