"Get ready for a kick-ass adventure romance!"
Susan Grant has done it again pushing the paranormal
romance genre in a whole new direction. Who needs the alpha
male when you have women like Banzai Maguire! Her latest
novel, The Legend of Banzai Maguire is an action packed
ride into the future. Plus the story mixes amazing
technological changes and politics that have taken a whole
new turn. Bree "Banzai" Maguire is in the United States Air Force
as an F-16 Jet pilot. Raised in a family that held strong
to the values of freedom and what America stands for it
only made sense that she would join the USAF. The book
opens as she and her wingman Cam are preparing for a
routine flight over Korea when they both get shot down. Managing to elude certain death both eject and parachute
down into enemy territory. Unfortunately many miles
separate them as each pilot ejected at different times. Now
alone and struggling to find her wingman, Banzai does
everything in her power to evade the enemy that hunts her
and reach Cam. Not only is this her duty as a pilot but
also Cam is her best friend and she cannot let her down. Luck however is not on her side and Banzai is soon
captured after a serious kick ass scene where she gives her
all before being taken down. When brought to consciousness
again she awakens to find her self tied down and apart of a
cryogenic science project where she will be frozen in time.
Helpless to stop them, Banzai's future seems uncertain. Now jump ahead 170 years to 2176 (BTW the book starts in
the year 2006). Navy seal and unofficial treasure hunter,
Ty Armstrong has had an ongoing infatuation of all things
related to Banzai Maguire and now he has the means to find
her. Not expecting to find her alive he is taken off guard
as he locates the lost lab where she is frozen. As Banzai is awakened into the new world of 2176, there
is much she must come to terms with not only as a person
but also as a USAF pilot. Where should her loyalty lie?
Does the training she learned as a pilot and soldier still
apply in this new foreign world? And to make matters just a
bit more interesting and stressful she has two men that are
vying for her attentions. One being Ty Armstrong and the
other Kyber, prince of the new Kingdom of Asia and her
captor as he has just caught Ty on his lands illegally.
Each man hold there own agenda where Banzai is concerned,
creating much confusion for her as she must find where she
fits in this new and crazy future. Susan Grant writes a truly action packed story that will
keep you reading to the end. My only regret is that I
wanted more than what the story gave. I am relieve to know
this is a series and will get a chance to learn more about
this new and fascinating future. This book is well written
and the politics are tightly woven in to create intrigue
and tension. And trust me by the time you finish this you
are will want the next book in this series.
