"Grand House holds grand secrets"
Kate Mannheim needs her deceased mother's diamonds -- if
the gems of her childhood memory really exist. So in 1933
Kate returns to North Dakota to obtain her mother's

her family home, represents nothing but frightening
memories of her grandmother's nastiness and cold people. Aunt Ruth remains as acerbic as ever, but her uncle, who
formerly was a bright light in the house is very frail.
Elliot Carstairs had left her with bitter memories years
ago, can she trust him to help? Even more, can she trust
him again with her heart? Elliot has his own bitter
memories and resents his renewed attraction to Kate. This story will be a pleasure for gothic fans. Although I
am not a gothic fan, I have enjoyed Ann Avery's other works
