Isabo Kelly's book is set in the fictional kingdom of
Karasnia during a magical/medieval time period. This story
is wonderful and dynamic as you come to learn the
intricacies of a culture that must deal with such evils
contained with in magic and goblins. Theif's Desire will
pull you in from the first paragraph. Opening up with the understanding that a prophecy has come
into play and now the decisions that will save the future
and preserve it for those to come must be defended and
prepared for appropriately. And it seems only logical
there would be an honorable General from the King's own
guard. But who would guess that a clever thief would also
become a critical part of this puzzle. The female lead, Victoria Flash, or rather Vic, as she is
more commonly known as in the streets, was abandoned as a
child. Raised by common folk and taught the ways of the
street Vic manages not only to survive but become quiet
notorious among Thieves Hole for her speed and quick
fingers. But Vic's life is about to change as she comes
face to face with one of, General Jacob Marin. Jacob is searching for the notorious Vic Flash in hopes to
secure 'him' for a mission. Little does he realize that
Vic Flash is a woman, not only capable of stealing purses
but also stealing his heart. Jacob is a man of many
talents that are not limited to his military career. Well
received amongst the women, he meets his match in a female
thief. As an alliance is formed so are the bonds of their love
for each other. And while the stakes are growing to
resolve the impending threat against the Karasnian Kingdom
so too does the romantic tension between Vic and Jacob.
For one has learned to trust no one but herself and the
other places his trust in his king and country. Thief's Desire is a well-woven fantasy adventure. The
primary characters are strong and cunning and the
secondary characters are intriguing as each plays an
essential role to this plot. Isabo Kelly creates a
wonderful almost intangible villain that will help to fuel
the adventure of this book even further. With an excellent
balance of sensuous love scenes, intrigue, and high
adventure, Ms. Kelly will not disappoint you as you keep
pushing through the pages.
