"A fabulous book about risking it all for love..."
Robin D. Owens has crafted an incredible story about
love and the confusing path we take to reach it. She
manages to weave all this together in the fictional world
of Celta. This planet is so well developed with its
societal customs, mores, and classes that one can't help
but wonder if maybe she knows something we don't. Rand T'Ash is a master craftsman of jewels and fine
metals. He has worked hard to reach the status that was
taken away from him so young in a fire. Alone with only
the
few memories of a six year old and a cat that bonds with
him telepathically, T'Ash conquers his foes but never
addresses the fears. Now he has created his HeartGift that
will only be recognizable by his true love. Can he manage
to secure his HeartMate and keep his fears and secrets
locked inside? Danith Mallow has always liked T'Ash's jewelry and when
she could afford it would purchase some of the smaller
trinkets. But when she comes to his store and sees the
beautiful necklace/HeartGift on display she is overcome
with incredible emotion and attraction for this man.
Frightened by the experience she slips away for she is not
of the noble class like he is. But T'Ash is not to be
deterred. He has always believed what he wants he gets.
To balance out all the conflicting emotions are the
wonderful secondary characters, the familiars. Actually
Zanth, T'Ash's familiar would probably have words about
that as he see himself as the center of the universe in
most things. Zanth is a tomcat and one tough feline with a
heart and appetite to go with it. Ms. Owens cleverly
entertains us by letting the reader hear the telepathic
connection between Zanth and T'Ash . Her words are well
chosen as she creates a whole new dimension to this
book. As the dynamics take flight in this book we learn of
the complications that can come with self-discovery and
many bridges that must be crossed if love is going to have
a chance. Ms. Owens does a fantastic job of diving into
the aspects of how to keep your identity and integrity as
love works it's magic and insists on your unconditional
surrender. Her words are well chosen. Her descriptions and
creativity are boundless. And the humor, beauty, and
romance are enchanting. An Excellent book Ms. Owens. I am
going to dive into the next one immediately, HEART
THIEF... and of course I will be joined by my own
familiars.
