"Tremendous science fiction romance"
In Druida City, Celta, Ruis Elder feels worthless, yet
remains diligent trying to stay alive knowing his uncle
sends assassins to kill him. Ruis also struggles to avoid
the destructiveness of self pity as he bitterly thinks of
how he should have been the Heir and ultimately the Lord
of
the GreatHouse rather than an outcast thief just because
he
has no psychic Flair except to nullify everyone else's
abilities. Celta Judge Ailim D'SilverFir heads her house, but as a
telepath hates "hearing" the avaricious thoughts of her
family. She pleads with the FirstFamily Council to loan
her money to save her near bankrupt house. She meets
incarcerated thief Ruis there and surprisingly finds his
Null refreshing, as she does not have to wearily turn up
her Flair powers to ignore feelings and thoughts. As they
both wonder if they have found their HeartMate, each
worries about what step to take to insure they become one. HEART THIEF is a tremendous science fiction romance that
affirms what many fans thought after reading the prequel
(Heart Mate) that Robin D. Owens is one of the sub-genre's
giant stars. The story line is faster than the speed of
light, but more important is this world's society seems so
real that psychic powers feel genuine. The lead couple is
a star-crossed duo as their opposite ends of the psychic
spectrum make them the least likely to pair yet love and
the polarizing powers actually leads to a perfect
coupling. Though the hero's uncle is too vile of an
antagonist, readers will appreciate this richly textured
other planetary romance. Harriet Klausner
