"Fascinating time travel concept"
It is said there is a fortune stashed somewhere in
Beclair house, but Becci and her Aunt Lily are unable to
find it. If they don't find it soon they just might have
to sell their ancestral home to a developer. Becci's
fiancé Michael thinks the investment company Ascomp might
give Becci a grant so she can open a nursery. All is going
smoothly until the day a man called Caleb Harrison
mysteriously shows up. He claims to be from the year 1836 and that he must
return there because his Godson Lucas needs him. Becci
doesn't believe him but she finds him very convincing and
her ancestor's journals do mention a Caleb Harrison. There
is a medallion in the house that will let him return to his
own time but first he must convince Becci that what he says
is truth. Gradually Becci realizes she doesn't love
Michael (who has his own hidden agenda) but instead she
believes Caleb is her true love. When the time comes for
Caleb to journey back to his own time, Becci's heart will
truly break. Barbara Christopher has written a fine time travel
romance due in large part to the hero who slowly (very
slowly) acclimatizes to the twenty-first century. The
romance between the lead couple is sweet even when it seems
hopeless while the villain tuns out to be quite a
shocker. Fans of paranormal time travel romances will not
want to miss KEEPER OF THE KEY. Harriet Klausner

Caleb Harrison doesn't believe that the medallion his
fiancée has given him for safekeeping is a magical amulet
from Atlantis that has time travel powers. He just knows
that he'll soon be entering a marriage-of-convenience to
protect Rebecca Berclair and her son Luke from Rebecca's
nefarious inlaws. Then Caleb is suddenly transported from
1836 to the 21st Century, where he meets Becci Berclair, a
descendent of his fiancée. But unlike her namesake, toward
whom Caleb only feels friendship, Becci stirs up feelings
in him he never thought possible. Soon he's falling in love
with Becci, but he knows he has no future to offer her. He
belongs in 1836, and he's obligated to return to his time
and protect Rebecca and Luke as he'd promised. Becci Berclair is sure that the workman who has
collapsed in her home is insane. He claims to be Caleb
Harrison, the murderer of her namesake, Mary Rebecca
Berclair, in 1836. But as Becci gets to know Caleb, she's
convinced that he's exactly who he claims to be. She also
knows that there's no way he's a murderer. Soon Becci's in
love with Caleb, but he keeps insisting he has to go back
to his time and fulfill his obligations. Unbeknowst to Becci and Caleb, Becci's ex-fiancé,
Michael Ascott is also from the past, and he'll do anything
to get Caleb's medallion and the power it will give him.
Soon Caleb and Becci are in a battle that could change both
the past and the future forever.
