"Story of love betrayal and revenge through time"
Christine Hart travels to St. Augustine, Florida, for a
long-needed vacation. Once there, she stays at the
historic Monks Inn and meets Ana the innkeeper, whose
family has owned the inn since the late 1700's. Christine
is glad to be away from Arizona for awhile; away from her
abusive ex-boyfriend, Sean, whom she was forced to get a
restraining order against. Christine is emotionally
fragile after her ordeal and doesn't want anyone to touch
her or get too close. When she goes to her room, she finds
it is already occupied by a handsome man. He tells her
that his name is Alejandro and she has betrayed him and
must help him aid his family. Later, Christine learns that
Alejandro is a ghost and she is the reincarnation of the
woman that he loved. YESTERDAY'S PROMISE is a paranormal romance with two
tortured main characters. Alexjandro thinks that Christine
betrayed him and he has waited over two hundred years for
revenge. However even with her betrayal, he can't suppress
his feeling for her. Christine is trying to overcome the
abuse that she has suffered and is now thrust into this
extremely difficult situation. While YESTERDAY'S PROMISE kept my attention from start to
finish, it contained a little too much angst for my
tastes. I found the historical information about St.
Augustine very interesting, and thought Ms. Robins included
it in her story in a seamless manner. If you enjoy
paranormal romance with a lot of angst and tortured
characters, YESTERDAY'S PROMISE might be the book for you.
