"A very well written futuristic novel"
Captain Marcus Aurelius of the Alliance Starship
Freedom wanted to kidnap Cindy Crawford so the men on board
can look at her in person. Instead, they have taken Jess
Wyndon, a mechanical fix-it person who thinks she is the
victim of her brother's practical joke. By the time she
learns that she really is on a spaceship, all she wants to
do is go home. However, she can't because the Praetorium,
a band of hooligans and rebels from many different planets
are in the vicinity and want to capture the Freedom. To escape these vermin and keep military secrets out of
their hands the captain orders the ship into hyperdrive,
taking them even further away from Earth. During the
journey Marcus and Jess develop feelings for one another
that they try to fight when they are not engaging the
Praetorium. In the end they give into their feelings but
they realize the future is not for them since they come
from two different worlds. Diana Burton's first novel is a very well written
futuristic novel complete with quirky and humorous
technology and an action sub-plot that is fascinating. The
aliens and their homeworld seem so real one feels as if the
author has visited them sometime in the past. SWITCHED is
a great futuristic novel with so many surprises that
readers will want to finish it in one sitting. Harriet Klausner
