Summary

Miranda Reddington is a spirited, golden-haired beauty, promised by her parents in marriage to a man she despises. Her fiancÚ is the wealthy owner of a tea plantation in Ceylon and arranges for her to marry him there. He sends her on his clipper ship, Gallant, entrusting her to his captain, the handsome William Harris. However, Miranda and William discover an attraction between them that ignites into passion beyond their control, and before Miranda can reach her fiancÚ, William initiates Miranda into a world of love and pleasure she cannot live without.

When a terrible storm at sea prevents the Gallant from reaching Ceylon on schedule, Miranda and William are given more time to explore each other, and Miranda is forced to make a choice. Will she honor a promise made to her parents, or will she honor the fire of love that burns in her body and soul?
