DEAD BEAT AND DEADLY by MEG CHITTENDEN
|
SummaryAt a self-defense class she's arranged for women in the
neighborhood, Charlie Plato finally finds a stylist who
promises to tame her hair. And what happens? The pretty
Filipina gets murdered and the husband she'd accused of
spousal abuse is looking like the number one suspect.
But Thane Stockton swears he didn't kill his wife and
Charlie sets out, with sidekick Zack, to find out if he's
telling the truth. On the way to a conclusion the story
includes a very nice homeless man, a bride ordered off the
Internet, a case of agoraphobia and of course, a little
line-dancing. Once again, Charlie gets herself into a
sticky situation that could easily prove fatal, and this
time Zack isn't around to rush to her rescue.
