Merry Albright works hard to make her business "The Magic Emporium and Costume Shop" a success. But no one in West Palm Beach knows that Merry was born a witch. A reluctant witch who wants to turn her back on her magic abilities so she can fall in love with a mortal man and live happily ever after. Dr. Bryan Aldwyn, a pediatric oncologist, captures her heart. While helping him put on a magic show at the hospital, they fall in love. Fearing she will lose Bryan, Merry doesn't tell him that she's a witch. But Merry's Aunt Nora, and her father, wizard Simon Rand want only the best for her and try to change her mind about living as a mortal.

This causes complications that Merry must deal with while Bryan hides problems of his own from her. Together they must overcome these obstacles before learning the greatest magic of all is love.
